Fresh Orange Buttercream
Tangy orange buttercream that will give a fresh and unique flavor to whatever you decide to pair it with! Perfect for white or chocolate cake or sugar cookies.
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup butter softened
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 3 oranges zested
- 1 teaspoon orange extract
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup orange juice freshly squeezed
- Orange gel color optional
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter and shortening.
- Mix in orange extract and orange zest.
- Slowly add powdered sugar to mixture, combining alternately with the fresh orange juice. Beat until light and fluffy.
- Mix in orange gel coloring if desired.
